The pupils very much enjoy learning about Spain and listening to and speaking Spanish themselves. Yolanda's club is for children from Year One to Year Six and although this is a wide age range she includes all children successfully and encourages older children to praise and support younger children.

Yolanda uses the interactive whiteboard very competently and she provides opportunities for the children to learn through songs, actions and making things. We feel it is very beneficial for our pupils to learn a language from a Spanish speaker and also to hear English spoken with a Spanish accent as this promotes active listening.

Recently Yolanda spent the whole day in school teaching all groups about Christmas. They learned new vocabulary and enjoyed singing a Christmas song in Spanish. Yolanda was ably supported by one of our year five pupils who has been attending the club from the beginning.
